Adaptive

Adaptive Alpine is for skiers that want to teach adaptive downhill skiing.

Adaptive Alpine Level 1

Prerequisites:

– Be a Level 1 Certified Instructor in your primary discipline.
– Be an employee or volunteer of a recognized snowsports school/adaptive program.
– Complete a minimum of ten hours of in-house/on-hill training and on-hill adaptive teaching.

Certification Process:
– It is recommended, but not required, that you attend the Adaptive Functional Skiing Prep Clinic (1 day).
– Download and complete the Functional Skiing Professional Development Log. You must bring your completed log to the first day of your exam.
– Download and complete the Adaptive Alpine Level 1 Workbook. You must bring your completed workbook to the first day of your exam.
– Sign up for the Adaptive Alpine Level 1 Exam at least two weeks prior to the event.
– Attend and pass the three-day exam.

Adaptive Alpine Level 2

Prerequisites
– Be a current member of PSIA/AASI.
– Attain the Adaptive Alpine Level 1 Certification.
– It is recommended, but not required, that you attend the Adaptive Alpine Level 2 Prep Clinic and the Adaptive Alpine Level 2 Functional Skiing Prep Clinic.
– Complete the three workbooks for Adaptive Alpine Level 2 located in the “Related Documents” section of this page and bring them to the first day of your exam.
– Attend and pass the four-day exam.
